Ron & Jennifer from Dalton | Signed on: Thu 18 May 2006 07:46:29 AM MST Saul, hay it has been two days and all Tyson talks about is seeing you and when he gets to go back to see you. It may be a long road ahead, but you have already conquered a big chunk of it. Just like the pros at the TdG, we are trying to get everyone who rides a bike whether they race or not to put green electrical tape on their handlebars (this could be pretty cool if it turns global). PS. Tyson is going to hold you to that lion. |

Denver Velo from Englewood, Colorado | Signed on: Wed 17 May 2006 07:16:50 AM MST Amazing pictures of the hospital time. It reminds me a lot of my injury and how I looked in the photos at the time. I did one picture with a camera I called, "Head Injury with Still Life," where I held the camera and clicked off a photo of myself sitting at the kitchen table. The look in my eyes in the photo still says alot about what happened in the injury. I was expecting to see a cat-scan-photo of you going into the tube for the measure-by-measure that I'm sure you're having from time to time. Hope your short term memory is coming well, it was always weird for me to sit in the doctor's office and have my wife and the doctor talk about me and how I was like I was a 4-year old sitting on the table next to them in the same room. You've come far, I'm so happy for you. |

Being motivated helps, just be patient. Rely on those of us who have experienced the same thing. No one else will understand what you're feeling. But with time and effort you will recover. I'm even back on my bike climbing in the Rockies. You will someday be doing the same. Best of luck! |

glu from carrollton | Signed on: Tue 16 May 2006 05:04:52 PM MST Saul, Keep on keeping on. I have a spinal chord injury but walk and do most of the things I want to. A lot of it is mental. It\'s depressing coming back when you see people doing what you once could but now can\'t (but will be able to). Nobody knows what you\'ll get back so don\'t focus on that. Just work every day to get back what you can. I posted before the reminder that Lance was supposed to be dead by now but.....You just don\'t know what\'s in store for you, but trust that it will be good. As a mother, I know that your walking to your mom and giving her a hug was the absolute best gift in the world. Just focus every day on what you need to do that day. You are young, and the future will come! |

John from Middle of the USA | Signed on: Tue 16 May 2006 06:25:18 AM MST Saul, Hope you are having a great day, its amazing the amount of support you have out there, hope you feel the love out there. I know first hand what you are going through and know how tough it is for everyone, but you got this one, you just have to ride it out. Just think of it as those long miles when no one is watching, and remember the payoff isn't today but somewhere down the road. Keep on going its worth the journey. |

Micheala from Dalton, Georgia | Signed on: Tue 16 May 2006 06:24:17 AM MST Saul, I am so glad to read that you are doing better and are on the mend. Take it slow and heal up real good! Micheala |
