Hi Saul/everybody,
I just read that another cyclist is headed over to Shepard Center, apparently paralyzed after a crash in a bunch sprint at the local race. Poor guy...

Hey Saul,
Great news that you are coming home this week for good! Tell me something homemade you would really like eat and I will make it for you. Food is strength, particularly sweet stuff!!! Well, maybe not, but it can't hurt! See you soon.

I am very glad to see and hear that you are getting better. I can't wait to see you back in action.
I have a request to ask of you. On Saturday June 17th I had a very good friend, Bret Neylon that was involved in a racing accident 100 meter from the finish line. He will be moving to the Shepard Center for rehab. I was wondering if you could stop in and give him some encouraging words before you depart for the next part of your journey. Here are two links that will give you more information about him and his progress this far:

Salut Saul

Hi Saul,
Just read about your crash in Outside magazine. I was initially saddened to read that you were so badly injured, but your website illustrates how far you have come. I can't wait to see you back on the bike when you are ready. Best of Luck, Frances

Saul, we've been following your story, and are really pleased that you're making such good progress. Keep up the great, albeit hard, work -- we look forward to seeing you rejoin the peloton. Since you're coming to Atlanta, maybe we can meet for lunch sometime -- I live and work pretty close to the Shepherd Center.

Greetings Saul,
I\'m so glad to hear that you are recovering quickly. I know how mentally and physically painfulful phys. therapy can be, because I am still recovering from a serious motorcycle accident myself. What keeps me going is knowing that at the end of the day I can still look foward to simple pleasures that I once took for granted, like the company of friends and family, cool breezes, even the smell of chain lube when I work on my bicycle.
Your second chance will give you new perspectives for sure and I hope that you capitalize fully on all of them and come back stronger than ever. I look foward to seeing you back in the peloton very soon.
Take care. :)

Saul,
I am glad to see your recovery is progressing. I got hit by a car from behind June 21st. No broken bones just got beat up pretty bad. My left calf took the majority of the impact. I was thrown about twenty feet and landed on my left side. Head and hip were my touchdown locations. I had just purchased a new helmet and it did its job well. Stress fractures everywhere in the foam but I didn't even get a headache. I hurt everyplace else though. I am 56 years old and I am not quite as quick to mend as I used to be.
You are an inspriation to me as I start my own recovery.

:) As someone with a spinal cord injury(but one of the lucky ones), I'll be looking for one of those bracelets. It's certainly for a good cause. As for you, you're doing great. Keep at it. Do what they tell you (and a little bit more), and one year will pass quickly. Who knows which Tour de France or Tour de GA you'll win in the future!
