I am back from my first Triathlon. What can I say? I am very happy with it. They are hard, WOW I was impressed. The mental and physical aspect of them makes one of the most if not the most demanding sports in the world. The swim was brutal, nasty winds and big waves made for insane conditions. I made the swim with no problem and the transfer to the bike was a breeze. The 22 mile bike ride was not so easy. After hopping out of the swim my head spun and my legs felt like jelly.I tried to pace on the bike because quite frankly I was scared of the run. I think I paced to much... but so say the least I had a good ride in the hurricane winds. The transfer from the bike to the run did not go that smooth. It took me ten minutes to put on my running shoes. I got them on and took off. I think all I thought through the whole run was, ouch.. could a triathlon be more hard? Coming to the finish I felt great. To me finishing was a personal accomplishment. This will be the first of many to come. The next one is in June. New Pictures posted.
