My First Triathlon PDF Print
Sunday, 11 May 2008

I am back from my first Triathlon. What can I say? I am very happy with it. They are hard, WOW I was impressed.Surprised The mental and physical aspect of them makes one of the most if not the most demanding sports in the world. The swim was brutal, nasty winds and big waves made for insane conditions. I made the swim with no problem and the transfer to the bike was a breeze. The 22 mile bike ride was not so easy. After hopping out of the swim my head spun and my legs felt like jelly.Tongue outI tried to pace on the bike because quite frankly I was scared of the run. I think I paced to much... but so say the least I had a good ride in the hurricane winds. The transfer from the bike to the run did not go that smooth. It took me ten minutes to put on my running shoes. I got them on and took off. I think all I thought through the whole run was, ouch.. could a triathlon be more hard? CryComing to the finish I felt great. To me finishing was a personal accomplishment. This will be the first of many to come. The next one is in June. New Pictures posted.

Raisn Hope Ride and Foundation PDF Print
Thursday, 06 March 2008

Hi everyone, I wanted to give each of you a quick update on the Raisin Hope Ride for 2008. The Ride is scheduled for the weekend of October 4-5 this year. And a new cycling event has been added: There is going to be  “A Tour of the Town-Dalton” Criterium to Dalton Georgia!  As of now, the Raisin Hope Ride will be staged on Saturday the 4th, once again starting and ending at Heritage Point Park’s Rotary Pavilion and will follow the same basic course as last year through Whitfield and Murray counties to the top of Fort Mountain. The plans call for the Tour of the Town-Dalton to be staged in historic downtown Dalton on Sunday the 5th

This is going to be a great event and chance of a life time to help give hope to many who have lost it. I look forward seeing everyone at the second annual Raisin hope ride. Lets make this year even bigger!!

-Saul
