John Cox from Fuquay-Varina, NC | Signed on: Tue 02 May 2006 03:12:17 AM MST Saul- When I started riding again about 3 years ago, a co-worker mentioned this kid mountain biker from near Chattanooga, where he used to work. He knew your folks. I did a quick internet search and found that you were on the way up - doing better than he realized. I've followed the rise: US U-23, Credit Agricole D-III, and into the Big Leagues. I don't know if it's the smile and the kind eyes or the fact that I know somebody that knows you, but I've payed close attention to how things have been going. I'm excited when there's a win, and I've been amazed how you've bounced back from crashes and manage to take it up another notch after you recover. I really don't know why I took it so personally when I found out you were struggling for your life, but I was crushed and really concerned. I've prayed for you, your healing and recovery. I've prayed for your family, their peace of mind and knowing that you were in God's hands. I've searched high and low for any info about how you were doing - cheering out loud when I'd find good news. I couldn't help but smile when I read that you walked off the plane onto Georgia soil. God is good! I'll keep praying and you keep working to get better. I'm looking forward to the next ride you lead for yahoos like me. I'll consider it an honor to get dropped by a walking miracle. God bless you and your family. |

John from Kansas | Signed on: Mon 01 May 2006 08:48:15 PM MST Saul, Hang in there buddy, you can make it all the way back, and take it to a new level. Obviously you have a lot of great things ahead of you in life as God has saved you for something great. My twin brothers went through this very same situation (both together in comas, so I know exactly how your family feels, and know how much you need their support) about 19 years ago and I am happy to say that they both came out of it well. You have a lot of work ahead of you, but man it will pay off for you more than any bike race ever has. So press on baby you got the whole world pulling for you! |

lucy from carrollton | Signed on: Mon 01 May 2006 05:47:34 PM MST I love France and the French people, but I am so glad that you're back home. I thought about you while I ran around watching as much of the Tour de GA as I could and remembered seeing you last year. We never know what is possible or what will happen. Lance Armstrong, by many estimates, should never have achieved what he did. So keep good thoughts and never be discouraged. You will do what you are supposed to do! |

Saul's Parents from Atlanta | Signed on: Mon 01 May 2006 05:04:35 PM MST After 14 hours of travel time Saul is in a rehab hospital resting. Saul is still very weak and has to sleep alot. A lot of you have ask when can you visit Saul? The hospital will not allow visitors at the moment, but as soon as they do, we will let you know. Saul will want to talk. Saul is improving everyday. He eats up a storm and wants to go home. In a few days will be have more information after all the test come in. Saul is in the ICU unit for now. When Saul is out of the ICU unit we will take the computer to him and let him read all the entries. He is reading and using his cell phone to call Daniela. Thanks again for all your support, love, and prayers. |
