I am very thankful for your recovery. Our life experiences are our most valuable teachers. Some experiences are difficult to understand but we need to take them all in and move ahead with a greater strength than we had before. Squeeze all the good you can out of these experiences, the good and the bad. Best wishes. Chris

Saul,

I'm just an ordinary cyclist and fan who's very happy that you're recovering well. Hopefully you'll remember that it is an American tradition that one should come back from tragedy to win the Tour de France. ;)

I too am recovering from a racing crash exactly 2 months ago to the date. Almost a month in the hospital. 15 days ICU. Lacerated left kidney, two hemotoma, 6 fractured ribs. Now 2 pleural effusions, and a thoracotomy later, I rode 30 miles today. You will do this too! And more! Docs are amazed at how quickly us cyclists heal up. Keep the faith and pray. Just believe and you will recover stronger than before. Also, go for the Delotuid. It was my 6.5 mintue best friend in ICU. Have parents push the pain pump when you can't. God be with you, Linda Burry

Your strength in recovery is the best example I can think of as to how cycling motivates people to being better than their best. Thanks and keep getting better.

Hi Saul,
We cyclists recover fast. Being "elite'" means you ride faster than the norm and it also means you recover faster than the norm.

So see you on road next week. OK?
Is that too fast? Didn't think so.

Get well soon.

Hey Saul,
Looking forward to seeing you back on the bike. Been watching your results and very impressed. You need to get your ass back on the bike and continue to inspire the up and comers to follow your wheel into the European peleton. Show the Euros' once again how strong and determined American riders are with a fast recovery and a win or two real soon. Lemond, Armstrong and now Raisin. I see amazing injury recovery scenarios in my practice,...the human body is so strong, especially a bike racers'. Kick ass Saul, we are all right there giving you a wheel to follow and quickly drop! Hup Hup Venga Venga Allez Allez!!
