yo saul, man it sounds like you are on that super fast time trial back to being super healthy and strong once again. don't worry you will soon get your time in the spotlight against basso and cunego and battle them in the mountains of the alps.
well keep the rehab strong and always remember to keep your chin up you'll be back out there soon.
keeping you in my thoughts, if you get a chance hit me up with an e-mail dunn_matt@msn.com.

Hi Saul,

on a cyclingnewssite I red that you will leave the hospital next tuesday, that sounds very positive after all the bad news there was just after your cyclingaccident.
The pictures are very impressive, and I can assure you that we here in the Netherlands think about you, and hope that you'll recover very quick.

And just like mentioned before, there were more cyclist who became big after a problematic, although that's a big understatement comparing with your situation.
Offcourse the first thing is to get yourself better again, and then let's hope that the third stage this year in Langkawi and your big prestation in the stage to Sölden last year in Germany will be nothing compared to your prestations in the future!!! ;)

Greetings (in Dutch we say: 'Groetjes')

Saul,

Thanks for posting. You are courageous to post all your thoughts and pictures. Ever since your accident I have checked your website many times per week to check on your condition. At first we couldn't get much information. Now we can keep up with your rehab. I am so glad you are getting better and better. I crashed myself three weeks ago. I went over the handlebars and hit my head but am okay - well, my collarbone is shattered but my head is okay. I look forward to getting back in the saddle. You are an inspiration and I am so glad to read about your recovery. I have prayed for you many times. I think your recovery is like a race - long and difficult but worth it in the end. You are a strong man and will make a full recovery, I just know it. Keep the faith and work hard and you will recover. My prayers are with you. Though I have never met you I feel like your friend. Keep up the good work and I will be praying for you and checking on your progress. You are a champion.

Dear Saul,

I read at ' www.wvcycling.com ' about your pictures on your website, so I took a look. It was an emotional moment and I thought about an other cyclist who crashed very hard. When he recovered, he became the best of his generation : Laurent Jalabert. Another cyclist won 7x the Tour de France after his sickness (and I know you can climb very good too). So Saul, I wish you all the luck, and I will follow you and you're races in the future. I hope to see you as quick as possible in the future races, but take you're time.

Hi Saul,
I was devastated to read about your bike crash. I was really looking forward to following you during your racing season this year. I have been keeping close tabs on your recovery and am even more inspired by your dedication. I know that you will heal and I will get to follow your fantastic career in the future.

You are in my prayers.

Saul: You don\\\'t know me, and I doubt that you ever will, but I just wanted to let you know that seeing you up and about is fantastic. I\\\'ve been following your story since it broke on espn.com, and all I can say is \\\'bravo\\\'. Indeed. Great inner strength on your part, and keep up the fantastic work. You\\\'ve obviously got a great and solid family base around you, take your time, and I will look for you at Champs-Elysses in a few, n\\\'est pas?

Thanks for sharing the photos with everybody. It's true, people see people hit in the head on television every few minutes and they have no freaking idea about what it's all about.

The fog is going to keep clearing out. Your memory is going to get better and the equilibrium is going to come back. I'm telling you, I've lived it and it does.

Stay strong. And as my old neuropsych used to say, "Believe in yourself, have hope for the future."

Saul, it's really great to hear that you're coming along! You're attitude is awesome, and I sincerely hope that we'll all continue reading about your accomplishments and cheering for you in all of your endeavors. I've always been one to cheer for and support the home-town rider and/or team, so I wanted to let you know that you will always have my support.

You and I have a mutual friend, being Doug Green. Doug and I have ridden together, hung out on occasion, and his office at work is even right next door to my wife's(!). It's always been fun to say "Yeah... I know a guy who knows Saul and even has one of his old bikes!" (the Litespeed), but I hope to actually get the chance to one day finally meet you. For that matter, sharing a ride would be completely awesome, too! I know you'll get there, and on that day in the future, we might even get that chance meeting on the road.

Keep up the tough fight, and you've got a serious group of devoted fans behind you to borrow strength from when you need it most.

All the best!!!

Saul, I was devastated when I heard about your accident. It hit real close to home for three reasons. One. When you and Josh were racing together as juniors I always admired your heart and for something like this to happen to someone who you care for cuts deep. Two. As a father of a racer, I have spent time in the hospital with my son as a result of crashes. Three. I crashed out hard in a race last July, narrowly missing hitting my head by mere inches. A hard enough direct impact into a sign to break 5 ribs, scpula and punctured lung. We do heal!
I can say this as an athlete we heal faster than the general populous, and with your determination and fighting spirit I know you will recover quickly and fully. I keep you in my prayers as does our church. I believe in miracles, God isn't done with you yet.
Love, Pierre

Dear Saul,Although Pierre and I haven't seen you for a time, it doesn't mean we havent thought about you or kept informed with your progress in the bike community. From the moment we met we liked you. You have a kind way about you. We have been praying for a complete recovery for you everyday. I have no doubt you will. Be patient and know that there are many, many people who care about you and your family , especially now. love nancy, Josh's mom

Thanks, Saul, for sharing the photos. Of course, they were difficult to view, but they truly give us a truer perspective of what you and your parents are going through. My heart skipped a beat when I read of your Mother's Day gift to your mother.

We love you guys and your being in Atlanta means you are "nearer" to home. We look forward to the day when you all drive up Coventry together.

God Bless you all. You continiue to be in our prayers.

Saul, our family wishes you a speedy recovery. A good friend of ours was the victim of a brain injury (in Atlanta) many years ago, so we know the road to recovery is a tough one. I am sure you get this all the time and I apologize in advance but I have selfish reasons for wanting you back in the peloton. You are one of the guys in the pro peloton I can say to a friend "hey I raced with that guy!" In fact I fondly recall you dropping me and several others heading up racoon mtn years ago. Stay with it and get back on the bike soon.

Hi Saul, I read the article about you in procycling and was waiting to hear how you were getting on, I couldn't believe it when I heard about your accident. I'm just a recreational (weekend!) cyclist in England, with 2 kids and not a lot of time on my hands, but I just wanted to send you my best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hope you'll be back on your bike soon. Hugs, Sue :eek

To Saul and his Mom and Dad,

Hello, I am the Mom of 20 year old Marietta, Ga. Pro cyclist, Zach Taylor. Due to your close geographical proximity and your closeness in age to Zach I have followed your blossoming career. Zach has shared with us that behind your ferocious cycling persona there is a humble, funny guy. I know that you will use these same strengths to overcome this new challenge. My thoughts are with you. But, this note is not only to you, it is to your parents.
Yvonne and Jim, when I first heard about Saul’s crash and injuries my thoughts were for him. Shortly though they turned to you. As the mother of a cyclist I know the thoughts and feelings: is he racing now?...what time is it over there?...did he eat enough before the race?...with the time difference what time should today’s stage end?...he hasn’t called…was he going to call today or tomorrow?...no news is good news…right?...what if…
Our sons have chosen a particularly dangerous career. Their choice, their successes, failures and crashes, bring us much reflected glory and much reflected pain. I want you to know that there are cyclist Moms and Dads that shared your glory and are now sharing your pain. We are here in support of Saul and in support of the two of you.

Saul… thanks for sharing the photos, they were great… I wanted you to know I see an extremely fit professional athlete – a cyclist with a head trauma injury, who possesses an enormous inter – physical, mental and spiritual strength, not available to everyone and, not unlike LA’s. All those years of stressful training and racing will be paying off big time now. We’re praying for you everyday and I’m looking forward to riding with you sometime soon… I’d love to have an excuse to come to Dalton. Take care and Godspeed.

Saul, hay it has been two days and all Tyson talks about is seeing you and when he gets to go back to see you. It may be a long road ahead, but you have already conquered a big chunk of it. Just like the pros at the TdG, we are trying to get everyone who rides a bike whether they race or not to put green electrical tape on their handlebars (this could be pretty cool if it turns global). PS. Tyson is going to hold you to that lion.

Saul,
Thanks for the pics of your progress. I\'m praying for you daily that you will totally recover and return to the peloton. I know that you will beat this and be back racing as soon as you can. Your determination is great and I wish you the best of luck in your recovery. I check your web site several times a week to see how things are going. I wish you and your family the best. :grin
