Matt Callaghan from Lake Elsinore, California | Signed on: Mon 22 May 2006 11:56:29 PM MST Saul, I remember reading about you in BICYCLING magazine a couple months back. I was looking forward to seeing you in the Giro d' Italia this year. I just found out about everything tonight and now know why you're not there. I'm so sorry to hear about what happened. I'll be praying for you and also reccomend Lance Armstrong's book, 'It's Not About The Bike, My Journey Back To Life'. You've probably already read it but just in case you haven't it's super inspirational. I have no doubt in my mind that your path to revovery will be quick and speedy. Please remember to stay positive, and that the mind runs the body. I believe in you Saul and I expect to see you even better than you were before, even though I've never seen you race. Just remember to stay positive, it's your choice everyday! enthusiastic newbie cycling fan, Matt |

Alex Behnen from Columbus, Ohio | Signed on: Mon 22 May 2006 06:34:29 PM MST Great work on busting out of the hospital and starting out patient rehab. I spoke with you in Gainesville, GA at the start of a stage of the 2005 Tour de Georgia. At the time, I did not know who you were. You were preparing for the race by fixing your mussete. You spoke with me about the race, introduced yourself, and allowed me to take a picture. I walked away from that experience thinking, \"this is one class act.\" When I read of your injury I was heartbroken. At our meeting you demonstrated the class of a gentleman. After your injury you demonstrated you have the heart of a lion. Do you have a mailing address? I would like to send a copy of the picture. cabowabo@ameritech.net |

Rich Stahl from Cordova, Tennessee | Signed on: Sat 20 May 2006 04:35:22 PM MST Saul, I know an injury like this is a tough thing to get over but you will get better. You will be back in the saddle because you love it. You know what it takes to be at the top. Don't eat too much - the hills will be tough. Just say no to the Nurses trying to fatten you up. Try to smile and feel the wind in your face. Isn't it great. You'll be back soon - Best of luck - Rich |
