Saul,

I am so glad to see you on the road to recovery, each day you will feel like you can do more and it is amazing what a little progress will do for you mentally. I am on a similar track as you but a little ahead of you (dropped a message to you in late May). The video looks so familar, what is amazing is how tiring therapy can be because it seems so easy and how easy it is to spend the same amount of time on a trainer. Don\'t let seemingly easy tasks be discouraging, it gets easier. Anyhow I\'m off the trainer now, starting and stopping is still a little challenging but once I\'m spinning I feel good. I started on a mountain bike then moved to the cross bike, a little more forgiving geometry than the road bike. But I waited until it felt right to hit the road, be patient (the tough part), it will come. Wait till they have you jump rope, talk about something that should be easy but with a brain injury is a challenge. The great news everyday I feel stronger and actually was able to hang on a small group ride this past weekend. Keep at it even small steps are huge.

Your Avenir trophee from last September holds a place of honor in the middle of the trophee shelf, and today David Talbott was showing off his bracelet to everyone. Rehab hard and call us soon.

Ain\'t it amazing.... You are a superstar! Keep rehabing hard, work hard, love your family & friends. The doc\'s say a year until you race again. I think that means 2007 comback!

Look at that slacker called Jalabert.... he crashed and where did he end up?

That guy Museeuw who fell in Paris-Robaix or had that motorcycle accident... yeah... he could never win Paris-Robaix or races again could he?

That guy Lance... yeah, his injuries really kept him from making it to the top of his game. That guy Raisin... we remember those days that he used to finish in the front of the pack... but that was until his comback. I think we all see some podiums in your future.

You don\'t think so? What do you think Jalabert, Museeuw, or Armstrong would say? I think you are going to comeback and kick some serious Euro-Ass!

Raise some hell.... in rehab first, on the roads of Europe next!

Saul,
It's great to see pics of you back on the bike. I know what it's like not being able to do the thing you love the most. I had a siezure during the Tour of California & couldn't ride for 2 months. I'm better and back on the bike. I keep praying for you, your family, and those you care about. My prayer is that you get better soon and can return to the peloton soon to continue kicking some behind. Keep up the great work on your recovery. I have no doubt that you will recover totally from this. You have proven to be a very determined person and will not take no for an answer. I admire your strength, courage, and determination for what you are going through. Everyone in the biking community here in middle GA wishes you the best, a speedy recovery, and a return to the peloton. Keep the pedals moving!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grin

It's GREAT to see you on your trainer. I bet you never thought you'd appreciate trainer rides so much, huh? At least that's what I thought when I was going through my rehab from a similar injury. You are kicking @ss -- it's written all over your face in those pix. Hang in there. It DOES get better. Amanda (tailwinds05@yahoo.com)
