I am one of those cyclists that have experienced a closed head injury (5/16/93). While I spent nine days in the hospital (half of them in the Neuro ICU), I realize that Saul’s condition is more serious than mine was. At this point in time, it is the road back to health that remains in our prayers for you. It takes time and patience to make this recovery. May God continue to bless you and fill your life with Love. Glad to hear you are doing better. Hopefully the experience you went through will make you a stronger rider in the future, besides that Live Large and know that you are young and have a great future even if you never ride competively again. My bet is that you will ride and be the next great US cyclist.

You "THE MAN" -- I've been waiting to hear you say it and you're sounding very positive about training and racing again. Now we all know you're really on the mend. Please keep up the hard work and be patient. I seem to remember LA and Lemon getting injuried on their trek back... Do bypass that experience. We're continuing to pray for your speedy recovery.

Hey kid

Use the injury to your advantage. You have legions of new fans, both cycling and non-cycling, who are inspired by your determination. This will not change irregardless of whether you never race again or win the Tour de France 8 straight times. My money says you're coming back to racing, stronger and better than before.

Finally made it to the Giro this year, and the only thing missing to make the adventure I had wished was you. So forza Saul, I have faith that you will make it back to whatever life you wish and hopefully one day we can be at the Giro together (watching, racing, drinking wine, whatever works).
Courage mon vieux.

Saul,

You are the man. I'm a recreational cyclist who loves to watch guys like you do your thing, and I was psyched to see you putting it to the Euros! I know you know how to work hard, so do it, get better and start kicking ass again!

Get well soon!

Life sucks sometimes...
What's true, is that most things happen for a GOOD reason.
It's more about going forward now, than looking back...

Keep at it !
We know you can do it !

Saul,

hey buddy, it's hard to imagine what you've been thru lately... Carlee and I have been praying for you! It's good to hear you're recovering so quickly. You've been on my mind a lot recently - I had to come home early from Philly week b/c I broke my pelvis at the CSC Invitational:( I recently talked to Mike Skiles at the shop and he told me you came in - amazing my man. I've somehow managed to misplace your email address, send it my way if you get a chance. We are all pulling for you!! God bless my friend, Eddy Hilger

Hi Saul,
I just watched the video, WOW you are amazing! I wish you continued success for a speedy recovery. I spoke with your uncle and am awaiting the arrival of your bracelet. Afterall, New Jersey needs for a displaced Southerner to "Raisin Hell" up here. Please relay my warmest regards to your folks and the rest of your family.

Saul. Not sure how I missed you. I was in Shepherd from April 17-May 25. I was hit by a truck while riding my bike. Mine was a spinal injury so I was on the 2nd floor and you must have been on the 3rd. I am in a walker and making progress. What do you say in the not too distant future that you and I take a ride?

Saul,
We have a couple of things in common. We both use CTS coaches for training, and we both have had pretty significant head injuries/hemorrhages (from a 2-wheel accident). That is probably where the similarities stop. You have probably heard this before, but you have one of the greatest healing factors on your side...age. I was 18 when I had my injury. I have seen several head injury patients. The younger you are, the better the chance of a full recovery. You have one other healer on your side...we are praying for you. I am keeping up with your progress through the media. Keep up the good work. One day it will all pay off.
