Saul, Great to hear your doing well. I wanted to thank you for stopping to see my friend and teammate Bret Neylon. It meant a lot to him. I talked to him later that day on the phone and he was very excited about it. I know he needs all the good days he can have. Thank you again. I will continue to pray for your complete recovery.

Hello Saul,
I want to hope for you in a fast resumption to your incident, and that you can return in your “world” to more soon. I know what it wants to say to suffer!I have not had your type of incident,I am sick of cancer, also I was a bike rider. It uses your force as you used it in order to train to you and to gain the contests, is the just way in order to return “BIG”. You make this for you and all the persons who cannot recover and return like before the problems,(I am one of these). I am recovered and still become ill for four times, hour I hope to recover definitively in order to return to compete in 3 - 5 years.BROTHA, you recover we soon we will be on the roads to make support for you (alè!!) ;) you excuse me for English bad one and translation ;)

If you can ride 4 hours on and indoor trainer, your mental fortitude has to be higher that anyone I know. I wish you the best in your recovery and return to racing.

Saul, I hear you are "Raisin Hell" at your PT sessions. Keep it up!

Sorry to hear the bad news, but look at it like this:
Relationships are like a bike ride. When you're rolling through the flats, all is good. When it goes to poop, the climb has just been kicked up a knotch. And finally, when you two part ways... let off the brakes, fly down the mountain, and forget all the B.S. you left on the way up the climb.

That is great news about your recovery. First there was Lemond and the hunting accident, Lance and cancer, and soon to be Saul and his recovery. No one will be surprised when the story is written about how you have recovered and have won the Tour de France!!!
Heart break sucks!!! but when you are so loving and are so loved, just know that it will happen again.

You're always in our thoughts!!

Saul, Glad to hear you\'ll be able to race again...sorry to hear about you and Daniela. When the time comes and you get back into racing, there\'s a lot of us out here who\'d love to come watch you race were you to jump in a race here in the south. It\'d be really cool if you could somehow let us all know where you\'re racing so we can come out and support you. Chattanooga\'s a great town, I hope they treat you right at your new rehab center.

Hey Saul it's been good to talk to you online a few times. It was good to read the bit on you Cyclingnews. Just keep on taking it day by day, and your a day closer to accomplishing your goal, getting back on the saddle on the road and back to your team and riding. I'm sure after some the news you shared today it's not feeling like a stellar day, (breakup) but don't lose confidence in yourself or your ablity! You have far to many folks think and wishing the best to you not to succeed! Looking forward to a ride soon when you are able to swing it. Keep it up young man!

Saul;

Sad to hear about your breakup, but the news about getting back to racing is just wonderful!

If you're going to Siskin, you already know you're in great hands there.

Keep your chin up about your love life...there's other fish in the see, so to speak. You'll pull through this time of suck.

Saul,
I just read that you've been back on the trainer ... GREAT to hear and I'm sure that while it must be tough not to be at the Tour ... it sounds like the CA folks are really supporting you. I just wanted to wish you all the best in your recovery. I have have been amazed by your positive spirit and while things may not always be great (sorry to hear about your girlfriend - but it's probably best for both of you) ... you seem to be taking them on in a healthy way.

As you say good days and not so good days... hang tough and know that there's a lot of folks who believe in you. Keep smiling and I hope you're out on the road soon...

Al the best!

Too bad your girlfriend will miss seeing how far you've come in your recovery...it's truly a miracle! She will also never get to meet all of the people (both family and friends) who love you in the USA. Her loss!!!

Saul, funny about the "going on a diet" photo. After my head injury I got into having ice cream every night (I was a bit underweight, even by racing standards, when I had my injury), and I somehow re-added a few extra pounds over the balance point... nutrients are good. Cool seeing the cat scan-tube photos. I still have mine around, they're good to look at every once in a while.
