Saul, I wore my C/A jersry today on my ride and I was thinking of you and how well you are doing.
It's a pretty tall order to wear a C/A jersey. I hope I did your team justice

Saul,

You are an inspiration to us all. I have a very close friend who was attending rehab along side of you in Atlanta. HIs name is Jackson Amburn.

As an avid cycling fan, and the President of the Western Carolina University Cycling club I would like to invite you to ride with us in the future. It would be a great event and our riders would be greatly inspired by your presence.

I appreciate the experience you have gone through and I wish you all the best. Keep up the good work hope to see you on OLN soon.

I agree about Tai Chi for balance.
There is also a machine my daughter
is using called a "Chattanooga
Exerciser", which is an ergometer
used for dual functionality for upper
and lower body. The idea is to strengthen, but also to retrain the
brain for better balance, etc. Also,
my daughter has participated in
Neurofeedback which has helped
her balance and cognition. This therapy is still not widely accepted by the medical community, but some-
times alternative methods do help,
as we have found with our daughter.
You may also want to look into an
exercise called "Cross Crawl", which
helps balance and retrains the brain.
I'm telling anyone who'll listen about
your website because your story is
truly inspiring. I think we'll set up a
website for our daughter after seeing
how great yours is! We'll also order
some of your "Raisin Hell" bracelets!
You are awesome...keep inspiring
others to follow their dreams no matter
what!

wow!!!!!!!!what a picture of you on your bike! i bet it felt good! you really look good compared to your "hospital" picture. i lost your email address and hate to aggravate your parents on theirs. i bet you felt like you were flying when you got to ride.kelli ask me yesterday if i had read your guestbook lately as i keep her informed as to what is going on with you. she has been busy with school starting back. she was really surprised and excited when you came by the other day! i have been busy at work so haven't had much time to sneak in on it. i know your mom and dad are so happy with your progress as well as the whole entire world. keep on pedaling and
"raisin hell" talk to you later

I was thrilled to see you in the ajc.I'm sure just being at a race was good therapy! I have posted on your blog several times during your recovery. As a person with a spinal cord injury with balance problems from that, I recommend you try tai chi. It helped me with my balance. Also, I think the methodical and repetitive motions would help retrain your brain. It's low impact and relaxing, as well. Keep working!

I just read the article in the AJC which
really hit home. My 19 year old daughter also has a brain injury
which changed her life dramatically.
She has gone through many, many
therapies which have all contributed
to her healing, but she will probably
never be "100%". Brain injuries can change a person's personality to some extent. Ironically, we saw
Dr. Bilsky the same day he gave you
permission to ride on level surfaces!
He is a great doctor and person.
You are truly inspiring, and like my
daughter, I really believe you have
the right spirit and attitude to overcome any obstacles!
I am especially glad you are out there
promoting brain injury awareness.
God bless you, you are a true hero!

Hi Saul, I read the article in the ajc on Monday with interest, as I was a rider from England in my earlier days doing the same as you are doing today but over fifty years earlier, I took part in many European races spending a lot of time in Nice France while racing and training. I would like to compare the road racing of today with my experiences. We rode bikes with only four gears. I would love to chat with you. 706-692-4171

Saul,
Thank you so much for coming to the Sandy Springs Classic yesterday. It was an honor to meet you and talk to you. I hope you're not too disappointed that I didn't have the legs to attack like you told me to.

I hope you had fun at our race and that you will be racing again very soon.

Hi Saul
Just wanted to say I have been a bike racing fan since 1996 when stuck in bed awaiting birth of 2nd daughter and watched it on tv constantly.
Was shocked to hear of your problems on Eurosport and have been following your recovery since then. We check your web site regularly and have to say I always had a good feeling about your recovery! We look forward to seeing you in the peloton soon.
By the way, you have become a real hero to our 13 yr old daughter. Her friend, the same age, the same class died when her heart stopped suddenly in a PE class around the same time as your problems and she has willed you well....
So dont forget you have a fan base in the UK... :-)
Best Regards

I've been following in the news since the accident, I remember just how it hit me when I first heard. You've always been an inspiration to me and now even more so. Would've come over to Dalton but I've been in Europe since March. Wishing you a further phenomenal recovery.

Saul, I’m really glad you’re doing so well it truly is a miracle. I'm glad you’re able to ride on the road again. I know it has been your goal for several months. I'm still struggling to ride after watching my friend and teammate Bret Neylon crash in Ohio. He was my riding buddy and it’s hard to ride without him by my side. Now he is your riding buddy. When I saw the picture of you two, Bret looked the happiest he has in a long time. I know you have been a huge inspiration to him. I saw in the picture you had his Healin’ Neylon bracelet on that is really cool. Thanks again for being a friend to my friend it has given him hope. You are truly a hero to me for all you have done for him. My thoughts and prayers are still with you and your family. God Speed

Good on ya mate!

Its so good to see you out on the road with your Dad. Where did you guys ride, it looked sort of familiar, Crow Valley?
It must have been an amazing feeling to have the road flowing underneath your wheels again.
Keep it rolling,
