Thank you for thinking of and praying for Christophe. He really needs it now. He's stable but still not so good. He's facing a long revalidation. It's his 3the accident this year. he brooke his elbow in may, than a rib in july and now this.

Christophe Brandt is a gentle, kind person. A hard worker and a good teammate but also the loving father of a little daughter and a loving husband.

So please, cyclingfans all over the world, pray for him. Saul, thank you for writing that blog.

To Jocelyn: Update of Christophe Brandt's condition from the DVL website:

Christophe Brandt's crash, today afternoon at the Schaal Sels, will have very grave consequences for our racers.

Christophe suffers from four broken ribs, which caused a lung perforation and a pneumothorax.

Operating him immediately, the surgeons have been able to save the spleen but they had to take a kidney away. The upper arm is also broken.

The abdominal haemorrhages have created a very serious situation. The doctors will keep him for three days under artificial slumber.

Not so good for now but the teammanager said he would be OK after a while. Let's hope, because it's a good cyclist and a kind person.

Saul, How nice of Thor to sign the guestbook. Your so lucky to be part of Credit Agricole. Every race I watch on CyclingTV I always keep track of (our) team and think of you
I know, there will be a day when, I will be standing on the road screaming your name as you fly past and I will be wearing my Credit Agricole jersey.
I wear it when I ride now and think of all you have done in your journey to recover and it gives me that extra push I need.
I'll keep smiling if you keep smiling.

Thor is smiling for sure.

Who would have thought, almost 5 months ago, you would be at the US Procycling championchips!
I know, you would rather be competing with Hincapie and the others but you are there, that\'s already a miracle.
Have fun in Greenville and tell us everything about it afterwards.
Say hi to your mom, dad and Ashlee from me.
Ciao Bello.

Saul, man, bike therapy, its the best isnt it?

You can continue to be an inspiration to me and so many others. Saul, I wish you all the best and am rooting for you as you continue to recover. Nothing would make me happier than to see you transcend your injury (actually, you already have) and return to a happy, productive, life. And if you make it back to competitive biking, all the more better. If you dont, it doesnt really matter because you have already transformed your life in an indelible way.

all the best,

David.

Saul,

So glad to see you back on the road. it will be harder than the trainer, but much more enjoyable and each ride will get easier and soon riding will seem easier than many things, like walking up and down stairs with liquid.

Keep riding Saul, you have many people pulling for you. Thanks for sharing your life with the world, that takes courage, but you've proved you're up to the challenge. You have reached out to co many and it is very appreciated. Your site is such a motivation to everyone recovering from an injury and your accomplishments so far are great. Stay strong.

So there are sightings of Saul on the roads around Dalton, the fleeting flash of green as he flashes by. Something sounds so right about that! Good to see your continuing to improve, and was great to share a few words with your father on the Bike Against Cancer ride in Cohutta this last weekend and hear of your continud recovery and improvement!

Saul:
I heard about your story via the RoadBikeRider newsletter. Last Wednesday, one of my good friends (Kory) crashed while doing a pre-work ride in the hills west of town. He was in a coma until this weekend and is now gradually regaining conscienousness. Hearing your story gives me hope that he will ride (and race) again.
