I have been watching the verses coverage of the Tour of California. I read on your site that you are riding. I had a brain injury because I was run over by a truck. It is inspirational to read stuff about you on this site. I am coming to the Tour de Georgia. I will be at the Stone Mountain stage. My email is (deuce1.1@netzero.net) I wish you would contact me because I went through a trama too. I am a big cycling fan. I would like to get a Credit Agricole hat. So that I can support your team.

Hey Saul:

I think it is great that you are helping other with traumic brain injuries. I used to be on the Defeet mountain bike team in 1998 & 1999. We got to watch you grow up and become a great cyclist. In 2000, like you I suffered a traumic brain injury while out on a training ride. I got rear ended by an automobile traveling 55 mph while stoppedin the road trying to make a left turn. I was thrown onto the hood of the car and hit my head where the windshield and roof connect. Then onto the roof, trunk and back onto the road. I damaged my right frontal lobe. I was transfer to two different hospitals and spent 5 days in ICU. Thank God for my helmet because it saved my life. My experience changed my life forever and taught me what is really important in life. I still have some bad days and I not the same person that I was before the accident. I really admire for giving back and helping others with traumic brain injuries.

Saul,

Over the Summer, I had a cycling accident that left me with a spinal cord injury. As I work hard to walk again, I've been inspired by your recovery.

Keep Raisin Hope! And God bless as you ride the Tour of California... and on to a return to professional riding! :)

Saul- You came over to my son and I after you came across the finish line is Sacto. You saw my Raisin Hell bracelet and came over. The interesting thing is---you have no idea how many times i talked about your recovery in spin class, or how many patients i have inspired with your story. You showed that you are a class act, and very worthy of your blessings.

Saul,

Thanks to you, I will never forget my flight back to SFO in Feb ‘07. It was on that flight, that you amazed me with your story of tragedy, perseverance and hope. Thank you again for sharing your incredible story with me. Your courage and strength are truly an inspiration for those who have suffered traumatic accidents, but continue to pursue a fulfilling and rewarding quality of life.

Please keep me posted on your training and progress. I look forward to contributing to your charity and will encourage others to donate to your great cause. Take care.

Hi Saul. I was about 10 meters down from the finish line at todays stage that finished in Santa Rosa in the ToCA. I was right on the fence and saw you cross the finish. It is inspiring to see you you on a bike riding the same routs as the racers. Get well and start putting up results soon

Saul,
I have never met you personally but I have ridden with your dad on a few occassions. I also cheered for you as you raced in the TDG and climbed Brasstown Bald. I know several people you know e.g. Michael Green, Ron Swope, Andy Myers, Brad Delay and many more.
I just signed up for your 50 mile ride on March 31st. I was excited to see one of your benificiaries was Camp Twin Lakes. You see my family has directly benefited from CTL on five different occassions. My eight year old son died of a rare blood disorder type of cancer almost two years ago. We attended the camp once while he was alive with other cancer patients and families. We have since gone back twice to their bereavement camp that supports families who have lost a child to the dreadful disease of cancer. My eight year old daughter has also gone two more times for siblings of deceased kids. It is great to see a professional cyclist like yourself surporting such a camp. I am proud of you for this and the way you are attacking your own recovery.
My wife and some friends have since founded the Coulter Hampton Foundation which helps families in our area who have kids with cancer. By first hand we know what it is like to benefit from the love and genorosity of friends and complete strangers.
We are having a big fund raiser on March 10th in Fairmount. One of the many activities slated for that day is the Coulter Hampton Run to Remember 5k race. We would love to have you come down and run the race if you are in the area that weekend. It begins at 9:00 a.m. I know you ran the Jingle Bell Jog 5k in Dalton recently. Tell your mom and dad about it and see if they can come down. For more information visit our www.coulterhamptonfoundation.org website. Would love to see you. We had just over a 100 runners last year and think this year it will be even bigger and better. You can download an application form from that site or run by the Bradley Wellness Center and pick one up. Looking forward to meeting you. If not at our race then certainly at your big event.

Saul, I am a 66 y/o nurse. I was comatose 4 months post-brain aneurysm. Prognosis veggie if she makes it! The neurologists acknowledged that my 20 yrs. of riding helped to save my life! Last summer I averaged 120 miles/week with my club! I believe with all my heart that attitude = 90%
Comment: THANK YOU FOR YOUR STORY, HELPS GIVE ME INSPIRATION TO GET BACK. LOVE, SAUL
