In my last post, it read like my friend is two months old. Well he's really 47, but two months ago he went down hard during a training ride, landing on his face with his helmet not even touching the ground, at around 35 mph. He even had his skull opened to fix the damaged parts. Your book has helped him thru this foggy and sometimes very dark part of his life.

Congratulations on the marriage!
I've recovered from a very nasty accident that included a traumatic brain injury. I've been reading your book and I have a friend that is recovering from a TBI that is only 2 months old. Anyway, I was reading some of the old post on here and it is so overwhelming to see how many people one person can touch. Pretty neat! But at the same time I'm sure you wish that when you wake up all of this is gone and you are just you, no extra label or anything like that. I know I feel that way at times. But you have told a story and have done something that very few people have done, beat the crap out of death! And you didn't even know that you signed up to fight!?! Have fun the rest of your life and pass on your story to those who will listen. Your recovery will give strength to anyone that hears it. Brain injury, the hidden/unknown trama. The more those of us that have beat it talk about it, the better the world will be.

I just finished your book, my father, John Gilbert from Nashville Tennessee gave it to me. It was amazing, and was so informative about what a brain injury is like.
