I want to thank all of those who came out to the 2007 Raisin Hope ride and I am excited to announce that things are heating up for the 2008 event. This year the Raisin Hope ride is going to be bigger than ever. We are adding two new events - Tour de Downtown Dalton Crit and a 5K Run/3K Walk!
Here is a brief outline of the events:
Saturday, October 4, 2008- Raisin Hope bicycle ride. There will be a 15 mile, 35, or 50mile (including Fort Mountain). We might add some new distances depending on your responses!
Saturday October 4, 2008 - In the evening there will be a silent auction dinner (the auction will start online one week before and end at the dinner).
Sunday October 5, 2008- Run race/fun walk and the downtown Pro 1/2 Crit.
I need all of your help to make this year bigger and better!! I encourage everyone to come out and have fun while Raisin Hope for many people that have lost it. If anyone has any auction items they would like to donate to the event and foundation please let me know.
Life here has been great. Last week Aleeza and me were spoiled rotten by my Mom and Dad. They drove out to spend a week vacation with us. We had a great time showing them the Salt Lake area and some of the best places to eat. In the mean time I have been running a lot. I am gearing for my next triathlon June 14th at Soldier Hollow. I will be at the bike expo the whole weekend trying to promote awareness for TBI and the Raisin Hope Foundation. Please stop by to say hi. Le vie et beau.

I would like to thank everyone who made the 2008 Findlay Roofing Criterium hosted by Team Cycleworks p/b HDR in John’s Creek Georgia a success. For the last 3 years you guys have raised over $5000.00 for the Raisin Hope Foundation. When you first heard about my desire to give back to the brain and spinal cord injury community, you did not hesitate to help. Thank you Findlay Roofing for sponsoring the race. Thank you Team Cycleworks p/b HDR for hosting the race. Most importantly, thank you to the competitive cycling community in the area that made this race and contribution possible.
My parents were there and said they had a great day watching the races and talking with all their friends.
Congratulations to my friend Tim Henry (Jittery Joe’s Pro Cycling) on his win and engagement to Julie. I am happy for you.
I am back from my first Triathlon. What can I say? I am very happy with it. They are hard, WOW I was impressed. The mental and physical aspect of them makes one of the most if not the most demanding sports in the world. The swim was brutal, nasty winds and big waves made for insane conditions. I made the swim with no problem and the transfer to the bike was a breeze. The 22 mile bike ride was not so easy. After hopping out of the swim my head spun and my legs felt like jelly.I tried to pace on the bike because quite frankly I was scared of the run. I think I paced to much... but so say the least I had a good ride in the hurricane winds. The transfer from the bike to the run did not go that smooth. It took me ten minutes to put on my running shoes. I got them on and took off. I think all I thought through the whole run was, ouch.. could a triathlon be more hard? Coming to the finish I felt great. To me finishing was a personal accomplishment. This will be the first of many to come. The next one is in June. New Pictures posted.
